I wake up to find myself in a field. My vision is still fuzzy, but I can distinguish the shape of a person. All of this seems... oddly familiar. I do wonder why.
I walk up to the person ((note: it can be any of you. Just act like I just appeared nearby or something)) and ask them, still a little confused:
"Where... where am I?"

Ok Herobrine, here's how this thing works: Once it is deployed, at is incapable of attacking. what it does instead is that it is capable of healing one other anti-Godmodder entity each turn. it heals them by a set amount, which is whatever you determine to be appropriate for a 10-charge summon. It'l deploy once more [AG]s are on the field.
Charges are given to: Jondanger, Earl Of Sandvich, and trip.
The names of the electrical charges really ought to be swapped. It is just DUMB that the place with MORE electrons is NEGATIVELY charged.@DarknessAwaits: For this session, the rule is that you have to specify who your charges go to. No putting charges up for grabs or anything like that. Just FYI.

@Herobrine: I'm glad you asked!
The world is made of numbers. ... and quarks. Anyway, math!
Now that I have a little more data to work with, I can determine a proper power scale. Lets get some baseline assumptions in first.
1: We want to encourage 60 post entities
2: A charge moves at an average of 2.5 per post thanks to assists
Moving at 2.5 per post, a 60 post charge will take 24 turns. Or, a player will be able to summon an entity every 12 turns. So, we want entities to die in about 10 turns so that people can have an entity out most of the time. The problem here is that most people are AG, and so won't attack AG entities. I don't know how much damage P Gs will deal to each entity per turn on average, but a 60 post entity should have 10 times that for its starting health. Lets say its about 10,000. Long story short, here's my new new equation...
y=45(.0008x-0.04)^(5/9)+7.5
And now I can actually post a pic- wait... no I can't. ... Have this instead.
https://www.desmos.com/calculator/4e9fmeuuyp
Here are some common, slightly rounded values for it...
1 - 57 HP
10 - 850 HP
20 - 1,800 HP
30 - 3,000 HP
40 - 4,500 HP
50 - 7,000 HP
60 - 10,500 HP
70 - 12,000 HP
80 - 13,250 HP
90 - 14,150 HP
100 - 15,000 HP
150 - 18,500 HP
200 - 21,350 HP
And finally...
12,500 - 168,860 HP. Which is on par with 16 60 post charges. Making the 16 charges costs 11,540 fewer posts. Not a great deal if you ask me. This system makes massive charges like Operation Corporate Takeover, Sea of the Soul, and Willow just be incredibly stupid. Although, I'd still charge Willow for like 200 posts just because of how complicated she's going to be.
The value of adding on 10 extra posts is low at the start, gets higher around 40, then lowers out again past 70. Going from 40 to 50 almost doubles its health (+3,500), but going from 90 to 100 is only +950 HP.
How I would explain this simply is... you spend your time the most efficiently by making 60 post entities. You can go above or below, but the entities you make then will be weaker for their cost than a 60 post one would have been.
If you want me to, I can calibrate this formula more. Just tell me what power level of entities you want to encourage and how much HP those entities should have.
...
Okay, I have a quite serious concern. If a 15 post entity is dealing double the damage of a player, wouldn't that mean a 60 post one deals not just quadruple, but even more than that? And... players and entities attack at the same rate of one per turn. So, once people's charges roll over, its going to be ALL entity based combat. Players will be, for the most part, irrelevant apart from their charges. This is strange for me to say, considering I love entity based combat, but these entities currently out are REALLY powerful.
I melt the cars on Bluey's hands, turning them into unwieldy blobs of molten metal.

Willow: 28/(Wilson, your place is here. Your destiny is here. But mine is somewhere out there for me to find.)

Well... we did it. MCF:DTG 2 is over. For the most part anyway. Time to see if I made Willow enjoyable to play.
Willow looked up from her work of burning random small bits of plant matter, and smiled. She could tell that Wilson was happy, joyous, in fact. The two had a kind of bond thanks to the meddling of Inari and Mikoto. This bond could be occasionally breached by extremely powerful emotions, and that had only happened a couple of times before. Nice that it was finally with something positive. She went back to trying to burn things. Twice.

There's a Youtube Channel... I do some stuff with it...@talist: And that equation is all well and good given a few assumptions:
1. There is no opportunity cost to an extended summon
2. The damage value stays relatively flat as the charge time increases (which as I've seen is very untrue, meaning that the charge weight is roughly the square of the given values.)
3. Summons don't have specials.
There needs to be more work and thought put into it, but one piece of advice to herobrine would be to consider locking charges that go past 60 (or whatever level you want to be optimal/common) , meaning they people have to give you at least a rough description of what they are trying to achieve, and those charges can't be changed to be used for anything else.

I sincerely regret to inform that this signature cannot be shown due to technically difficulties./null
@Jindra AG. This might come off as being defensive
2: I will say, you're right. After graphing it, I realized I need to make it harsher for the bigger side of things. However, this is still far better than the current system. Take a look at this graph...
https://www.desmos.com/calculator/vitfnaltlp
The red line is my equation, the blue line is a linear power scale, the green line is my equation squared (to account for attack also increasing), and the purple line is the linear line squared. Both the green and purple lines increase exponentially, but the green one doesn't increase as much. A 1,000 post charge with the current system is equal to a 13,500 post charge on the green line. That's better, but it doesn't discourage massive, field dominating entities enough.
Also... given how much damage 15 post charges are doing, 60 post charges should actually have a lot more hp... at least double. Maybe triple. Seriously, how did I not consider the damage of other entities? ugh...
3: I don't see how that's relevant. If they have specials that deal large bursts of damage, then they should deal slightly less damage by default so it balances out to average.
So... here is my fourth revision. And its actually much simpler as well.
y=6(x-40)^(1/3)+20
And I think that's perfect. It probably isn't though. This actually does encourage entities that are about 60 posts. My other version still did discourage massive entities, but the cut off point was too high. So, here's my reasoning. Lets say you're at a 50 post entity and you're thinking of going to 60 posts instead, IE: taking 1.2 times as long. A 50 post entity has about 32.93k hp with this equation. A 60 post entity has 36.29k hp, which is about 1.1 times stronger. If we say that damage scales at the same rate as HP (an entity with double the hp deals double the damage), then the entity is (1.1)^2 times as strong, or 1.21. So yes, going from 50 to 60 posts is worth it. Barely. However, with the same line of reasoning, going from 60 to 70 is not worth it because you get an entity 1.1337 times as powerful when you spend 1.1667 times as long making it. Yes, it's a 3.3% difference. Fine tuning math. However, when you go from 100 posts to 200 posts, for spending twice the time you get an entity that's 1.46 times as strong. Maybe this isn't quite punishing enough though.
@Tabbune
There's a Youtube Channel... I do some stuff with it...I apologize for temporarily disappearing. There was a...miscommunication about th scope of my data plan. Nothing really major. Quad*mn Sasktel and their misleading names.
Post coming later. Maybe. I'm pretty confused. So, we can't touch Duon, who just split in two, and feathered has a mystery mech?

Also HOLY FaCKING SHeT!!!!!!!This game is getting complicated fast :P
Anyway, update in the morning, as always.
Q&A shortly.
I am the once and future king./Null
I don't like this whole changing the system to prevent overcharging. It feels like it's supposed to stifle creativity and encourage the spamming of armies of minions instead of one major entity. What if one of us wants to create a plot relevant entity, huh? Can we no longer do that because they're barely more notable than literally everything else on the field?
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.I'm giving 3 +1s to Jondanger. Go out and do something crazy. Also I should probably post again on the Terraria forum. Heh...

I don't...even...know what's going on anymore...whatever. Whatever. Let's...just...do something insane and hope it's insane enough that it becomes plot relevant because SEROTONIN! ...Hmm.
I pull out my diamond sword, shout for everyone to get out of the way, and begin wiggling it back and forth. I then begin running with my eyes closed. I then realize I need to play some tunes, so I put my earbuds in.
I also shout for my fellow anarchists (8 Anonymous members) to go find a city and get all the cityfolk riled up about the psychopath who just sucked a ton of us into a server. Maybe there'll be some more players there or something.

Also HOLY FaCKING SHeT!!!!!!!@engie
I believe that the new system is built to strike a balance between massive armies and a single god entity. And if every entity was around the same power level, wouldn't the players strive harder to make their own unique snowflake?
/null
I sincerely regret to inform that this signature cannot be shown due to technically difficulties.@Talist: I still hold the opinion of charges being resolved case-by-case. And if something turns out to be stronger than it should, have Herobrine pull a massive entity out of the Æther that trades with it.
Q&A
- Paradise: Fixed.
- Hyena: Completely missed that. He's there, so send him at something. I'll add him in next round.
- Paradise again: Ok.
- Damage and Health.
I haven't decided how I"m going to run Damage and health for entities. Right now, I've set Normal actions at 500, really creative actions crit at 1000. A 10 post summon will hit 1000.
Past that, I go fuzzy. However, I will say this.
Buffing works. Buffing, REALLY works.

Assuming the Godmodder had to use a phone to do that, he's promptly sprayed with AXE. As in, a bunch of Axes fly out of his phone and smack him in the face. Axes, as in guitars. Albeit Terrarian axes. Physics defying tree-chopping wall-smashing guitars that reek of body spray.
I, meanwhile, cloak for about 4 seconds to remove the Jarate, then pull out a Necro Smasher to smack the silverfish into the ground. Then do so.
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.
