I really hate these mages. I start darting to the techno mages. When I get to them I throw emp darts at them all. The emp darts were made by me with a method so arcane that a technomage wouldn't be able to control them. Once I've neutralized some of their powers I spear them through with a sharpened rock. Because rock beats laser.

I hope I didn't misunderstand technomages. For all I know they control techno music. XD

Sigh, having three consecutive rounds annulled is really a bummer... Before I start writing just know that I've been considering using a Limit Break to teleport myself to somewhere where I can be useful. Yes, I'm that frustrated... In the future if part of my action is invalid, could the action please still be executed up to the point where the rest of the action can't be executed (An example being where I moved to castle door, to attack some mages, and then since they were in another part of the castle I didn't get to move to the gate in the first place)

Having just tried to get to the the Clockwork room and failed miserably, he somehow ended up in the same place where he started. Taking a deep breath, and thinking about all of his life decisions he'd made so far he decided to wander aimlessly towards the entry bridge and through that area to wherever that might lead him, making sure to avoid attracting unnecessary attention while proceeding through the area.

@all: okay, +1s have become a bit of a problem because of people having a hard time keeping track of stuff, and additionally, I think I want to limit the charges a little bit more now. I was debating whether or not to just remove them entirely, but I think I'm just going to outlaw free-floating +1s. As of this round, you must assign +1s. Going with that though, you can assign all three however you please, no limitations on assignment other than it can't be to your own charges.

@smartgirl: You'd be better off just reading the rules. You don't need to read the backstory, just the rules. @paradise: The answer is no, but I've dealt with it differently. @fseftr: Yeah, you're better off with that. @tartar: Sorry, my bad. I guess I've been shortchanging you, haven't I? Don't worry, I'll let you just teleport where ever since you haven't actually done a whole lot yet. Also, I moved you back because I didn't want you to be in range if you missed this next round and do the AFK sweep. @shiny: Once again I'm taking the liberty of saving someone's limit break so that they don't waste it on an easy fight. Don't worry, some good opportunities will come up... well, actually this next round in fact.

.

jindra causes the earth to snap up towards the technomancers, two of them jetpack out of the way, but the third one gets chomped and pulled into the ground. Remilia rushes forwards, using her Touhou experience to dodge all of the incoming fire. She comes out in a massive room full of portals, with a massive statue in the center. She sees a circle of magi working on it, and she blasts them away. They all scramble away from her, but not before they activate the adamantine colossus.

amp's nanobots only manage to get one of the weakened flux demons, the rest are bugged out by the flux demon's naturally high magical aura. Amp throws his sword, impaling the suncaster, but the shadowcasters continue holding him and pillow down, preventing either from getting out to attack. Wyld attempts to get back up, but because of complete and total failure to teammate, the technomancers keep him/her pinned to the ground with explosives and lasers.

Sundowner charges the flux demons, which were distracted by the now-dead nanobots, but then they become distracted by Sundowner tearing them apart in one clean motion. Shiny conjures a blade of pure energy, and slashes clean through two of the shadowcasters, tearing them clean in half. Solar continues being useless. Pastry decides not to waste his charged laser on the already-dead flux demons, and instead completely obliterates the technomancers while jondanger stabs the last shadowcaster to death.

engie turns one of the flesh golems into a block of cheese, then rams it into the gargoyle. Because of broken physics, rather than shattering upon death like it normally would, the gargoyle goes ragdoll on everyone, ricochets off the wall, and slams into a necrocaster, killing her. h2o covers one of the flesh golems in flesh eating bacteria, reducing it to various base chemicals far faster than should actually be possible.

Tabbune breathes lightning outwards, reducing one of the shadowcasters and two of the necrocasters to ash. maskwolf jumps back and summons up an anti-magic barrier. paradise rushes forwards, and in a feat of Dwarf Fortress awesomeness, butchers one of the flesh golems in one action! The resulting pieces are most certainly not edible though... Laitome combines the power of his glyph blade with the shadow dagger, and blows a hole in the wall, the last flesh golem gets caught in the blast! On the far side of the hole is a very dark chamber... laitome can't make anything out.

ohboy's origins revealed! We have yet another god-level overpowered character! Surprise surprise! Ohboy's father rips into the dimension, hailed there directly by ohboy. The unseen abomination tears apart five of the chronomancers, but then the rest attempt to slow down time... only to have it fail completely as coolstar's batch files kick in. Amethyst unleashes three powerful attacks, each one killing a chronomancer. Zbse unleashes his flaming fists of fury... only to discover that fire fists are not very effective against eldritch abominations. Tartar walks back to the entry bridge. Nothing much in the way of things happening there... except for the paradox energy left over from zbse's magic about to AFK wipe duck and augmentor. Tartar decides to go back to the entry hallway.

Everyone in entry hallway 1 moves forward, and are almost crushed as the adamantine colossus swings is fist around, trying to catch Remilia who is flying around the room, spraying danmaku at it. And then battle mages begin pouring into the room, all of them in full plate armor and armed with heavy weaponry. In entry hallway 2, the necrocaster and shadowcaster look at each other, and use their respective magic types to get the heck out of dodge. The group can see in the end of the hallway there's some sort of massive bronze automaton. Zbse is forced backwards by the summoner tossing magic missiles at him and the advancing abominations. The chronomancers look around, and having been thoroughly intimidated by the display of power, all time-speed themselves out of the room, leaving the players to their own devices.

My own opinion on charges is that they shouldn't take too long unless they're seriously, seriously big, should need to be pretty interesting to be effective, and should be pretty effective.

@pianoplayer Thanks, that would be nice. I've no real preferences as to where I want to be. So I'll leave the place where I'll arrive up to you.

@Amperzand A thing I've noticed is that there is a wide disparity between the amount of charging people do. Some people do small 10-20 charges attacks while others save up several hundred charges at once before using them. Perhaps the real problem with charges is that they are mostly used for summons, and since bigger charges means a stronger summon, it gives a small incentive to use those charges on smaller summons, or as enhancements to current attacks. Perhaps some kind of incentive could be given so that people would use charges more often? Especially now since floating charges are getting abolished, and the charge-rate will be slower..

@tartar:I'm going to respectfully disagree that you've been blindly shut down. For the most part you were attempting to jump to places IC you had no idea where they were, and had taken others multiple turns to get to. And you did actually advance inwards this round. Just not to where you wanted to go. If you wanted you could join up with either of the main groups on entry paths 1 or 2. But heading BACK outside? Probably not progress.

@Jindra I didn't say that my actions were blindly shut down, but that they weren't executed due to them partly involving invalid actions. And my action rounds said I had been walking in circles because the rounds report said I started walking, but didn't get anywhere and stayed in the entry hallway. Therefore I didn't really advance at all.

@Tartar/chargesdiscussion; Well, I do know that the capped charge number in DTG 2 makes people have charges to use more often, but for a variety of reasons said charges don't get used very often anyway, rather, getting left laying around while other charges are built up for some huge attack or summon. I for one am perfectly happy not using them at all, but they seem necessary to be able to hit hard. We could have some kind of D&D style "Action types" with each variety having a different cooldown. So, say, you have free actions, like talking, once-a-post actions like standard attacks or drinking potions, "Daily" {Or, in other words, less frequent than once an encounter} actions that have somewhat more power, like using a heavy weapon or a bigger spell, and "Epic" actions that have major side effects and huge cooldowns, with a corresponding boost in power. Pretty simplified, and likely far too rambly, but hey.

Heh, your reaction was top tier. I don't have any backstory for mi character, really. I was just thinking about one of the gods in Bloodborne while making that post, and one of the attacks you can call upon in the game. So I just went "Hey", why not. Kek.

Using the amazing power of logic, Oh Boy reasoned that anyone who was running away from someone would go towards their allies. Having made this "Giant" leap in processing, Oh Boy ripped his cape off and slapped it until it began to float like a magic carpet. Jumping on it and screaming "Ere' we go!" whilst chasing after the silly cry baby Magi.

@piono the battle mages aren't listed.

I stare in apreciation for a moment at Jindra's power upgrade and susequent attack. As impressive as it is though... Yo! I've fought these things before, trust me when i say this it NOT something you can brute force, or even destroy usually. Adamantine is virtually indestructible, immune to high temperature changes, and abusrdly light. The last part isn't always a benefit... I can't exactly see through the smoke jindra's attack made, but I'm positive that the colosi is still alive.

As strong as the adamantine creation may be, its attacks should carry next to no weight behind them, and it should be easy to... My infusion gets a strength boost after reaching what she is pretty sure the colosi, before grabbing around its leg and throwing it through the floor that should already be pretty weakened by jindra's attack. its best ot just get these guys out of your way instead! Part of my infusion beleived that there was the possibility that they could just hold it down and drain the energy out of it, but that would take alot more time than throwing it at a group of battle mages.

Everyone get away from the hole in the wall, we don't know what could be in there. Anyone with ranged attacks, get them at the ready.

Mysterious chamber you say... take out a rune-encrusted rod and whack it on the ground, causing a massive amount of light to emanate from it. Throw it into said chamber and then dive for cover to avoid the inevitable counterattack from whatever's in there.

On another note RIP Laittlecrusier and big charges in general.

@CC due to the new charging rules I'm just gonna need all of your charges, also I secured us some adventure.

With a swing of the Glyph Blade a small drone materializes that gives off a constant light. I send the drone down the hole in the wall to scan for anything that isn't the hole. Meanwhile I scavenge the corpses of the casters for pages of zbse's book and any remotely useful equipment to shove into the Glyph Blade.

When the drone comes back it has a map of the hole or if the drone is destroyed when I come back to check on it after scavenging I cloak and enter the hole.

If Creeper doesn't post, I grab him, activate his cloaking device, and carry him over my shoulder into the hole.

Once the two of us are inside the hole I cave it in with a sword beam from the Glyph Blade to keep anyone from following us and to prevent anything I might've disturbed from attacking the rest of the group.
