The Elements Ten: 61/225 Umbrella?: 27/30

I click the fingers of Brine, which does in fact count as an arm for this purpose. Instantly, a wave of Oblivion Majjyks pops up, like blue fire. I step forward, and the fire advances, as I calmly waltz towards the Necromancers. Huehuehuehue. They don't really have a specific trick for this one, do they? Even bum-rushing through the fire wouldn't work as they'd just meet a weapons expert with far too many weapons, Brine included. From the Necromancer's perspective, tons of odd blue fireballs fly out of the wall of blue fire, immediately annihilating whatever gets hit with extreme prejudice, while the firewall marches forward, destroying everything in its path no matter how fireproof it is or isn't.

I chuckle. Huehuehuehue. Idiots should know better...Mass carnage is the BEST carnage.

But seriously, what's going on? OOC mode now, what's actually going on? What happened after I left?

Well, looks like I need to do a Q&A

@engie: For heavens sake, please stop trying to murderify everything in one attack. You'll get your chance, in this fortress even, but you can't just rampage through everything. The OP scale is still in effect and I have to give the others a chance to do cool things too. You are not the star of the show. There is more than one main character. Stop trying to upstage the entire. plot.

@paradise: May I point out you are not yet in an area large enough to hold multiple brigades? Whatever, I'll find a way to make things work. I was going to let you find a portal room for your charge though, so if you decide to hold onto that charge, you will get a good place to use it. But even if you don't, the charge is fine. Since we've changed to flavor-text based combat, it is well within your rights to even add a number more troops to that summon.

@tabbune: Yeah. That's fine.

@tartar: Oh, derp. Sorry, your action didn't get counted because there wasn't anything to target at the time, and you aren't in the entry hallway because I did a stupid.

@tazz: Okay, I can't remember exactly when you left. Basically what's happened is that the terror enderdragon got murdered, but so did wyld's fortress, and the Glitch showed up again. Five different things that got Glitched earlier in this session reappeared as glitch anchors, and had to be killed/destroyed/defeated in order to destabilize the Glitch. Meanwhile, the godmodder had started taking over the glitch, but before he could finish, there was a big showdown with the Glitched out players in the central area of the Glitch and the last anchor was destroyed. Then the portal to the Warded Sanctuary opened up, and the godmodder rushed through it, and you guys followed him, and now you're here, breaking things.

@amp: Thanks. I try to keep it a bit more free-form, and I had that goal in the mind when I started, so I have a lot more freedom to be lax with the rules than twin does.

@fortis: Welcome to DTG.

@amethyst: Hello there. Looks like I've got another migrant.

And yes, there will be an update tonight. I'll make sure of it. It might be a little bit late, but I'll definitely be doing one.

@Piono: One drone has killed 12 space police officers in a rampage-like series of attacks, all in the space of 1 turn, although it was part of a side plotline. Similarly, an identical model, if not the same drone itself, had also killed 10 Vord creatures in a single go in the game proper. I find it hard to believe that those necromancers are somehow worth almost twice as much as space police officers, or a chunk more than parasitic space bugs. If you really want me to stop doing the "kill everything"-inization, at least give me a reason better than Because I Said So, or Diabolus ex Machina, or a Hand Wave, or something utterly stupid like "Oh, in teh magiks realm, yor mek is slo". And honestly, the whole OP Scale concept is really starting to grind my gears, if only because it's becoming overused as a concept.

And don't try appealing to my "humanity" by reminding me that other people want to have fun too. First of all, I'm a Psychopath, so things like guilt don't really cut the mustard for me. Second of all, humanity is not something I want to be carrying around - I've seen the future, and it's not one where you get an advantage for being some fleshy thing. Finally, there's no in-universe reason to why I would hold back, even slightly. Like the song says, 'I get a bit bit carried away by the sounds of pain...' Which inevitably means I'll just kill things.

The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.

@engie: Well for one they put up an army of undead between you and them. And two, different games. Seriously stop calling shenanigans on Piono simply because he doesn't use the same standard as Twin.

And you are pretty much providing a point of WHY the OP scale exists, to balance out characters of different power levels so we don't have a few characters that simply dominate the story because of their powers (HOWEVER we are having a few players dominate because of consistent quality actions, and understanding of the game. Which is literally impossible to prevent without making player inputs inconsequential.)

And honestly, if really creative people are putting in effort and thought to create high-quality attacks, it makes sense that they be powerhouses.

As to the whole no holding back thing, I would like to point out that my inclination is to spam nuke hand grenades at close range while stomping on everything with a twelve-foot demimech, but having gotten in a position where I have to limit myself, am actually finding this a lot more interesting. Try giving your drone a damaged power core or something, play weaker than you should be. It's fun.

Hmm, I thought I stated that I rushed through the entry bridge towards the hallway before I launched the attack, but whatever :/ On a sidenote, I won't have much time posting these coming days... Bummer.

Having just arrived at the giant gate leading to the entry-hallway Tartar entered the hallway to join up with Mathlecticism. Inside the hallway Tartar immediately two Psions holding Mathlecticism in aerial stasis. Tartar quietly draws Epochmacher and rushes one of the Psions with his double-edged blade. Quickly and quietly he approaches the Psions before they have time to react, and just as they're about to mount a defense he starts swinging his sword and starting a combo-chain. Opening up with a thrust Tartar lunges one of the Psions, immediately chaining into a downward thrust, and then feigning a chop which distracted the psions from his actual attack, his downward sweep which swept one of the Psions off of his legs. As the Psion was down on the floor Tartar jumped in the air above the Psion, carrying fourth his momentum from the attack. As Tartar falls down on the Psion, his sword pierced the Psions heart, leaving a pile of bloody meat on the floor.

This distraction could hopefully let Mathlecticism break free from the Aerial Stasis and mount his own attack on the second Psion.

Q&A: @maskwolf: Alright then. Welcome! @tartar: You did, but you made your action before the magi were visible. @jindra: hey, I'm going to do another 'GM doing you a favor' because your action would be seriously wasted if you used it to take out a handful of mooks. @paradise: For reasons stated in the previous Q&A, I have not added your troops yet. If you so desire to add them right now anyways, I will add them in the area of your specification. @tartar: This time you didn't move because math is in a completely different part of the castle.

@engie: Sigh... of course you need your own paragraph to yourself. Killing twelve space police is a fair deal easier than killing even one of these guys. It may not seem like it because of the way you guys are tearing through them, but they're all proficient magi. Additionally, that happened in a sidequest. Sidequests are less subject to the OP scale, because the godmodder is not directly involved in them. And then the vord, the vord are mooks. They get little to no protection from the OP scale anyways! And that's what the OP scale is. Because in a game like this, with all the crazy shenanigans, you need something for the GM to use as an explanation when without something made explicitly for that purpose, it wouldn't be able to be more than Handwaved or Because I Said So. That's why the OP scale exists as a thing! That was a good part of my OOC reasoning for inventing the Narrative! And I could always resort to Rule #0, which is cited in the Forum Games rules by the way, so if I really wanted to pull that on you, I could report you, and it would be entirely within my rights to do so.

And the OP scale is being abused as a concept so much recently because you keep forcing mine and twin's hands!!! You keep trying to hijack the entire plotline with claims of "I'm just that powerful" and we keep trying to give you a lifeline so that your entire plotline doesn't get retconned away for being blatantly rule-breaking, and you keep abusing it! And fine, you're a psychopath. But I did some reading up because its been coming up around me recently, and you are fine enough that you are close enough to normal for people to be well grounded in nit-picking the term 'sociopath', which is to say, even though you think differently, you still aren't excused for intolerable behavior. You. Know. Better. If guilt doesn't work for you, you're ignoring it. And I'm not trying to guilt you, this isn't guilt-worthy. But you're still being a twit. And don't bring any existentialist crap into it. I could argue your point all day long, and I could bring up real-life examples to counter any argument you have, which I doubt you could. And finally, in-universe, you have no reason to hold back. Except for the Narrative's bad tendency to directly control anything that gets too powerful. Which, having survived for a long time, your in-universe character is all too painfully aware of.

So listen to your fellow veterans, and stop trying to argue a point with the GM without legitimate reasoning to back you up. Some of your arguments might have held weight were it not for the fact that you have demonstrated in the past that your attempts to overpower everything is nothing more than you trying to steal the show.

.

Augmentor comes to a little late, and fails to smack any pyromancers over the side due to them already all being dead. jindra summons a large lightning tiger, which slams into the geomancers, taking out 3 of them, and all the mages whip around as the lightning explosion throws them all back, breaking their concentration on the elemental barrier. amp follows up on this by rushing forwards, tearing apart one of the pyromancers and throwing his corpse backwards, blowing up a number of the skeletons and the like.

Amp is immediately pinned down by the hydromancers, and the geomancers and aeromancers attempt to reactivate the elemental wall... only for wyld to burst through it like the kool-aid killer, tossing explosives everywhere. The pyromancers begin shooting them down mid-air, but then amp fires his guns into them, and two more of the pyromancers go down to the explosives. Blue teleports behind the elemental mages, but after he snaps the first hydromancer's neck, the others turn around and she's quickly pinned to the wall by a powerful gust of wind.

And then pillow is in the middle of them, creating an implosion that kills 2 aeromancers, and then eats a third, followed by solar who rushes in stabbity-stabbing 2 of the hydromancers. Ichigo, still cloaked, takes potshots at the aeromancers, killing the last two. The remaining six mages prepare to unleash a devastating combo attack, but are quickly taken down by Remilia and Shadow spraying them full of Emerald Nova rounds and danmaku, with the last being cleaved in two by Sundowner.

On the other side of the room, Engie attempts to unleash mechroa tendrils on everything... oops. Looks like he forgot to take them with him. He does, however, make himself a nice pet necromancer. The other necromancers watch in horror, and before engie can even finish his conversation with Blue, he turns around to see his beloved undead-raising puppy-dog has been turned to ash by the other six necromancers. Paradise waits on hand, and every time a necromancer or undead goes down, torches the corpse to prevent further reanimations.

Jondanger rushes through the hole in the undead forces made by amp's explosion, and stabs one of the necromancers, which paradise torches, and tabbune amplifies the damage of the fire with a blizzard, causing ice shards to explode outwards and kill two more. By this point, the undead have regrouped and are surging backwards to deal with the combatants that have bypassed them, only for tazz to surge forward with his weaponry and oblivion magic, ripping the remaining lesser undead to shreds. Chaoscreeper and laitome follow up on the wide opening with a dual-combo that tears through the rest of the necromancers.

ohboy grabs the two space magi, but they warp out of the way, twisting ohboy around behind himself. They turn to intercept coolstar's lunge, but are caught off-guard when the non-fake coolstar slams into one of them, killing him instantly. The other turns to redirect fortis's missile, and as such completely fails to block ohboy grabbing him a second time, and slamming him into the ground so hard that the floor falls out from underneath the four players. The group crashes through the floor, and land in the center of another room, filled with clockwork... and chronomancers. Amethyst joins the rest after descending from the sky, and starts with a large spray of magical bullets... and the four find themselves time-stopped... But still somehow able to observe things as they happen.

Shiny enters the hallway, and then h2o, who seems to be slightly confused about who and where he is. Both of them look around, it seems they've been left behind. Zbse moves over to the book. It appears to be a very elaborate summoning book. It also looks like its in use. Moving it might be a bad ide- never mind. Zbse takes the book without a second thought. There isn't anything else of note besides various candles and such. Math launches two beach-ball disguised weights, KOing the two psions. He looks around. There do not seem to be any visible hidden passageways.

maskwolf joins shiny, h2o and tartar in the entry hallway so that he doesn't get AFK wiped when that happens. Things happen to all the different groups not in the three opening areas. As the two groups who took out the two groups of magi in the entry hallways move down their respective directions, both of them run into more groups of mages, but both groups are aided by something new... Math hears some chattering voices approaching, and watches as three small, gnarled figures come down the hallway. They don't seem to have noticed him or the unconscious psions yet. Zbse flips through the book, and then hears the door opening behind him, he turns around and he and the summoner stare at each other in surprise. Those in the upper floor watch helplessly as the chronomancers look upwards through the large hole in the ceiling, trying to decide what to do with the intruders.

@pionoAnd I think you just demonstrated the big difference between me and Engie when we make arguements. I tend to rely on the basis of what a game/story SHOULD be, the ideals and foundation. Where as Engie argues from the perspective of within the story, what his character should be able to do, and where that should cause the story to go.
Which leads to a funny point: People don't God Mod. Say what you are attempting to do, not what the outcome IS. It gives whoever is running the game a better chance of making everything workout. Oh hey THATS EVEN in the Forum Games Rules.
And one more thing: Some of you really need to work on your reading comprehension. Definitely with +1's and claims and rules put by posters there abouts, and with understanding your current situation.

Alice? (407/? 4mask, tabbune, paradise x2) note

I wonder if you guys will present any more of a challenge than the others?
I'll call up a nice hot pillar of fire under the cryomancers.
